English fans program in Tallinn

Last update - 2.10.2014 at 3.57  - The fans match time has changed from 10am to 11am

It’s not only about the game and it’s not only about drinking several pints in the Old Town before kick-off.

Certainly, the English fans travelling to Estonia (according to unofficial sources about 2,000) will find extremely convenient to try the most popular Estonian ales at much cheaper prices of their home country.

However, in conjunction with the Estonian fans, B
ritish Council and British Embassy, supported by the English FA, have laid down a program of interesting activities for the travelling fans who might have the chance to catch up with the many English expats living in the Estonian capital.

The English FA has communicated the following program (all local times, GMT +2).

For each or all of the activities, it’s possible to apply by sending an e-mail to

fanfriendly@mac1.net

SUNDAY 12 OCTOBER
11:00
Estonians fans vs. English fans football match
(at Nike Arena, an artificial pitch close to the game venue, 'Lilleküla Stadium' - 2 halves of 40 minutes)

It’s a consolidated tradition for Estonian fans to hold a game with rivalfans ahead of the real clash. The English FA namely asks for players, physios, fans (!) and refs. When applying you can indicate your position and age.

The Estonian fans can contact
madis@jalgpallihaigla.ee

13:00 Fans Lunch
Once the game is over, the fans will have a traditional Estonian meal off the most exploited tourist tracks. 'Some' pints will certainly be added to the check!

15:00
Walking Tour and Wreath-Laying

Space also for a cultural tour of Tallinn (90 minute, exactly like a football game) led by a local guide.

This will include a wreath-laying with the British Ambassador to Estonia (Mr. Chris Holtby) in memory of the 112 Royal Navy servicemen who lost their lives in the Estonian War of Independence in the immediate aftermath of WW1 (1918-1919).
