Some may argue that he could have reacted better for the goal, but in his defense, he was left alone. Dealt with everything else thrown at him.
Solid defensive display for the Sogndal IL’s full-back with rare adventures in the attacking third.
He shut Finnbogason very well, not giving the Real Sociedad any space to breathe. Like the rest of the defense, was caught napping during Iceland’s goal.
Much better display from the experienced defender Good positioning and good cooperation with Klavan.
One of the many people at fault for Iceland opener, very shaky display in the first half often being caught out of position. Much better display after the interval as he pressed a bit more forward.
The defensive midfield role “nightmare” is still not over for the Viking player. Many passing mistakes and slow reactions. Would probably do better on the bench than in midfield.
Started off well, but soon ran out of breath. Didn’t cope well against the robust Icelandic defenders.
By far the best player among the “sinisärgid”. Created chances, pulled the ball forward, tried to find every single hole in the Icelandic defense and scored a magnificent goal.
Stable defensive display by the defensive midfielder as he fought a lot of battles with the “fishermen” but didn’t have much to offer in the attack.
Very positive game in the starting XI for the FC Flora man as he ran up and down the right side causing lots of trouble to the Icelandic defense. Definitely one for the future
The celebration boy lasted 13 minutes on the pitch and can’t really be rated for that, but RdS wants to give him a 10 and wish him a lot of success in his retirement and a well deserved rest from football (partially, as he is a CEO of Pärnu Linnameeskond).
Lively display by the forward. Since moving away from Blackpool he plays more and that is obvious from his performances in the national team. Lost breath in the dying moments of the game but a lot of positives will be taken from this game.
Coach PEHRSSON 5.5
Much better performance in front of the home crowd as he fielded (except for the first 13 minutes) a team without a characteristic striker. The ball moved well, especially through the flank and the only negative thing is still forcing the idea of Mets as a midfielder. Even though so far it seems like a huge mistake, it looks like the Swedish gaffer has an idea that he plans to fulfill. Let’s see how long his patience will last.
