Matchday 26 brings Flora back in front of their home crowd and the news from Kadriorg about Levadia’s loss to Sillamäe couldn’t have come at a better time. However, against them they had the team of Paide who just managed to draw agaisnt Kalju and sent a warning to all the title contenders that they won’t just give the points without a fight.
Coach Norbert Hurt decided to make a couple of changes in the team in an attempt to end the 4 games winless streak. Prins was on the goal again, Rähn and Mets in front of him, Aloe and Jürgenson on their standard full-back positions. Luigend wasn’t available for selection due to suspension so Lepistu was paired with Slein in central midfield, Logua and Gussev were deployed on the flanks and Beglarishvili behind Prosa.
Meelis Rooba also made few changes to the team that shocked Kalju. Palm was between the sticks, Kaldoja and Leetma in central defense and Ustaal and Lomp on the full-back positions. Reinsoo and Sinilaid took their standard positions in central midfield, Goldberg and Paur were deployed on the flanks and Rõivassepp played just behind Goldberg.
The match started as expected, with Flora trying to break the deadlock as early as possible. Their fans didn’t have to wait long for that as in the 4th minute the corner from the left side by Lepistu reached Jürgenson who headed the ball to Prosa in the box. The versatile attacker just turned and shot under Palm’s body for 1-0 and erruption of cheers on the stadium. Flora players didn’t stop there and already in the 7th minute Slein tried from distance but his shot went just over the bar. In the 27th minute world-class pass from Beglarishvili towards Prosa who managed to pass the goalkeeper, but his shot was blocked by Kaldoja. In the 35th minute Tomson tried for Paide but his shot was saved by Prins. Two minutes later great chance for Flora. Gussev managed to escape his defenders on the right side, passed to Prosa whose shot passed the goalkeeper but Ustaal saved it from the line. The corner that followed saw Jürgenson’s header passing just next to the post. In the last minute of the first half similar situation as before with another classy pass in space from Beglarishvili for Prosa who once again passed Palm but this time hit the net from the outside.
very one-sided first half at the country’s biggest stadium as Flora seems on the right track to retain the top spot in the league.
At the beginning of the second half, the hosts gave Paide a bit more space in an attempt to create holes in their defense. That resulted in a couple of chances for the away team but Prins didn’t have any problem preventing them from scoring. On the other side, Flora’s attackers were in a good mood creating number of chances. In the 66th minute Prosa was once again more successful than Palm and with a nice low shot managed to double his team’s lead. 2-0 and almost no chances for the visitors from Paide to hope for another sensational result. Until the end of the match Flora players again gave Paide a bit more space to run thus paving their own way for more counter attacks. Finally, in the 88th minute after Palm failed to clear the ball away from danger, it came to Prosa’s feet and the best player of the game scored in a spectacular way, chipping the ball over Palm from over 30 meters for the final 3-0. Cheers and songs at the A.Le Coq Arena as the home fans were celebrating the win and the return to first position.
