Estonian internationals: Round-up (9)

Deni DelevComment

As most of the leagues from Western Europe are drawing to a close, the Scandinavian and the Eastern ones are just getting started. Estonian internationals didn’t have a very good weekend as most of them were either benched or were given just a few minutes of playing time.  Let’s have a look at their performances.

By Deni Delev

Igor Subbotin – played 84 minutes for the U-21 team against Bohemians 1905 (1-1)

Artjom Artjunin – again wasn’t part of coach Szabo’s squad that drew with CFR Cluj (2-2) and his departure from FC Brasov is now just a matter of time

Teijo Teniste – 90 minutes in Sogndal’s draw away at Kristiansund (1-1)

Frank Liivak – played a full match against the third place Union Adarve. His team managed only to draw against their direct rivals for promotion (1-1) His club now sits second, 5 points behind the first place which brings direct promotion. With 2 rounds to go, Alcobendas need just one point to secure their play-off position

Konstantin Vassiljev – stayed on the bench during Piast’s second win in a row, this time against Leczna (1-2). His team is now 2 points away from the Championship group in the Polish Esktraklasa.

Ragnar Klavan – 90 minutes in the heart of Augsburg’s defense as they drew against Köln at home (0-0). His team is now 6th but their Europa League place is endangered as they travel to Munich next weekend to take on the champions Bayern.

Igor Morozov – didn’t make it in Debrecen’s squad as they lost to Videoton in front of their fans (1-2)

Henri Anier –didn’t play in Dundee Utd’s win over Aberdeen (1-0)

Tarmo Kink – stayed on the bench during Inverness’ draw away at St Johnstone (1-1)

Marko Meerits  – kept a clean sheet in Emmen’s win over Telstar (4-0) His team is in good situation to get promoted to the Dutch top flight next season as they made it to the play-offs.

Sergei Zenov – played the second half in Lokomotiv’s bravely fought draw against Rubin Kazan (2-2)

Karol Mets – played 90 minutes for Viking in their first win of the season against Sandefjord (1-2) on the 30th of April and has another match already today, the derby against Molde.

Mihkel Aksalu – extended his clean sheet series which means he hasn’t conceded for 270 minutes as his team continued the great start of the season with the 3rd win in their 4th match, this time against HIFK (2-0)

Siim Tenno and Reio Laabus – 90 minutes for Tenno in yet another important win for VfR Neumünster, this time against TSV Havelse. If they continue in this style, they might as well hope to avoid relegation. Laabus again didn’t get a chance to show his skills

Kevin Kauber – came in as a sub in the 73rd minute and his team scored the winner in the 82nd in the match against Zavrc (0-1) NK Krka can expect tough battle to avoid relegation.

Rimo Hunt – wasn’t in Kaisar’s squad in their big draw against the leaders Kairat (0-0).

Henrik Ojamaa – started the match for Sarpsborg 08 against Stromsgodset (1-1) alongside Askar, but was replaced in the 65th minute by Kalludra

Mikk Reintam – full 90 minutes in the heart of the defense for Frydek-Mistek in their defeat to Karvina (1-0)

Sander Puri – played 90 minutes in Sligo’s draw at home against Limerick (1-1)
