As the season draws to a close, another dead rubber game sees Narva travel to the capital to face FC Infonet. The hosts lie in 5th place after seeing their season tail away some weeks ago, with visitors Narva having secured safety a few matchdays ago.
Focus on Infonet (5/10, 60pts)
Despite having nothing to play for, Infonet stuck their oar into the title race last weekend by defeating leaders Levadia 2-0. The win made it two wins from two for the 5th placed side, their best run since a four-match winning streak that ended way back on matchday 22.
The Levadia match saw Infonet trade in their regular 4-2-3-1 formation to match Levadia's 4-4-2 setup, and the apparent success from doing this might see them repeat it again here.
Vladislav Ogorodnik partnered Manucho up front last weekend, providing his strike partner with an assist for the second goal, and he may be given another start. Aidara dropped back into the centre of midfield alongside Tanel Melts and may do so again in the absense of Konstantin Nahk.
Trevor Elhi was trialled on the right of midfield with Oleg Valov switching to left-back, and there may be some further tinkering to determine how flexible the squad could be next season. Infonet have a near full squad to choose from, and with their 5th place secured by a long way they are sure to make changes once more.
Injuries and Suspensions
Konstantin Nahk is Infonet's only injury absentee. Otherwise, they should have a full squad to choose from.
Gurtsioglujants, Melts, Aidara, Semakhin, Avilov and Harin are all a booking away from suspension.
Key man: Manucho
Infonet's top scorer will be looking to add to his goal tally to take second place in the individual Premium Liiga scoring charts behind Evgeny Kabaev.
Focus on Narva (7/10, 28pts)
Securing a place in next season's Premium Liiga signalled a downturn in Narva's already sketchy form. No wins in five (four defeats and one draw) has seen their chance of taking 6th place fade away, and they now sit just three points above Tammeka in 8th. They have also won just one of their last nine matches on the road so the signs are not good.
Shevyakov and Epifanov return and should slot back into the team; the former into left back and the latter alongside Sinicins in the centre of midfield. German-Guri Lvov staked his claim for a place with a goal in the 5-2 defeat to Flora, and he may challenge one of the attackers for a starting berth.
Viktor Plotnikov should start up front with Artjom Skinjov just behind him, with Svjatoslav Jakovlev and Ilya Osipov likely to support from the wings should Lvov not be given a repeat start.
Injuries and Suspensions
Pavel Avdeev is suspended after collecting his allocation of yellow cards. Tanel Tamberg and Bi Sehi Elysee Irie are still on the injury table.
Ornat, Sinicins, Andrejev, and Fjodorov are all a yellow card away from suspension.
Key man: Viktor Plotnikov
Narva will be looking for the front man to build on his 8th goal of the season in last weekend's defeat to Flora, and he needs to be up for this one to ensure Narva take advantage of any chances they get.
Normally this would be a case of which players win their individual positional battles, but the possibility of Infonet deploying last weekend's 4-4-2 formation makes this a little more interesting.
They might choose to revert back to 4-2-3-1 to ensure they don't get overrun in midfield, and they may choose to use a floating striker to allow them to do this during the game if things don't go as planned.
Manucho is clearly Infonet's target man, but they need to get past Narva's tight central midfield to give him some supply. If Infonet can draw Narva upfield and use their pacy forwards to exploit any gaps they should take the spoils.
