Updated on the 7th of November 2014 at 19:17 - Estonian Meistriliiga (previous name of Premium Liiga) has already been played in Punane street stadium
Season 2014 is about to finish and we can already give good news about season 2015.
In fact, FC Infonet might be able to play on their own pitch starting from next March.
Forget the cold and windy Spring afternoons in Sportland Arena, FC Infonet might be able to welcome fans and football followers in their base ground located in the district of Lasnamäe, the populous district built during Soviet time. Even though a proper covered stand will not be available, the tall surrounding buildings of the suburb shall provide good protection from the bites of the Winter winds.
FC Infonet website has communicated that the works to replace the artificial grass of the Punane street stadium have already started (picture above). If the weather will allow, it should be already ready for the 10th of December.
In future, there is a plan also to install a dome for the Winter trainings.
If everything goes according to the plans, Punane will be FC Infonet real home ground already in March. It would be the return of Estonian top-flight football in this venue.
