Kalju Nõmme vs Paide Linnameeskond match preview

Deni DelevComment

Kalju back to winning ways

After the two lost derbies and the fall from first to third position, Kalju Nõmme is facing somewhat easier opponent, Paide, in front of their home crowd. Will they break the goalless streak or can Paide pull out another miracle like the one from the first matchday when they surprised Levadia?

Focus on Kalju Nõmme (3/10, 32 pt.)

Coach Prins finally has fully prepared Quintieri and decided to use him against Flora but one of the best players in the league was well stopped by the opposition’s defenders minimizing his impact on the field. However, it has been proved many times that this set-up works against weaker teams so it might be expected to see the same starting XI getting another chance. That means the standard defense with Bärengrub and Reintam, Sisov and Kallaste on the full-back positions, Vunk and Reginald in central midfield, Toomet and Kimbaloula, Wakui playing behind Quintieri.

Toomet is in excellent form, Kimbaloula and Wakui also, and Vunk is arguably the best midfielder in the league. That means if they manage to create more chances, the goals will certainly come.

Key-man: Janar Toomet

The 24-year old winger as mentioned before is in exceptional form and very dangerous on both flanks. He will definitely try to create more chances and why not even score a goal.

Injuries and suspensions

Coach Igor Prins has his full squad available, no injuries and his only trouble is Martin Vunk who has three yellow cards and is on the verge of suspension.

Latest news: small entity injury for Allan Kimbaloula who will probably be spared this game to play next week in Jõhvi.

Flora vs. Kalju

Focus on Paide Linnameeskond (6/10, 18pt.)

Meelis Rooba’s players had tough match against Infonet which they lost by a narrow 0-1 and the coach can be satisfied with his squad’s display. That means he has no reason to change anyone from the starting XI. Niinepuu on the goal, Indermitte and Palatu in defense, Holst and Kovtunovits on the full back positions, Leetma and Sinilaid should be deployed in midfield, Goldberg on the left flank, Paur on the right one and Tomson playing just behind Roivasepp.

A formation in which Leetma is the only real central midfielder as Sinilaid often joins the front line in order to create more chances for the attackers.

Key-man: Rasmus Tomson

The attacking midfielder is the team’s top scorer and definitely the most dangerous player. He will definitely be the the player Kalju’s players should fear the most.

Injuries and suspensions

Mägi is out of the team as he has personal duties. Uwa played a bit in the previous match and he is still not completely sure, while Palatu and Kaldoja are a yellow card away from suspension.

Tactical keys

There is only one way for Kalju in this match and that is win by more goals in front of the home crowd. That means that from the first minute we can expect a full raid towards Niinepuu’s goal especially through the flanks completely exploiting the abilities of Toomet and Kimbaloula. Rooba will certainly try to surprise the same way he did with Levadia in matchday I and attack on the counter through Goldberg and Tomson.
