A clash at the Kadriorg Stadium that will define both teams’ season. The winner of this match will most probably play European football next season, while the losers can mark the season as a failure. A draw would most likely suit Kalju, as they have 2 points more than their opponent and in the final round they have somewhat easier opponent (Tammeka, while Sillamäe hosts Flora).
Focus on Nõmme Kalju (3/10, 75pts.)
A season marred with injuries is almost over for Prins and his squad and it all comes down to the last match in front of their home crowd. If they win they will certainly play European football next season and at the same time will remain in contention for the title in what would be a crazy final day. If they lose however, the whole season will be marked as a big failure and it certainly would damage their image created in the last few seasons as a top 3 club. Igor Prins managed to rest some of his key players in the past 2 weeks so he can count on the best XI available to him. That means Teleš on the goal, Bärengrub and Rodrigues in central defense, Kallaste and Mööl on the full-back positions. Reginald and Vunk should operate the central midfield, Nunes and Puri will be probably deployed on the flanks, and Wakui behind Neemelo.
Key-man: Hidetoshi Wakui
Even though the Japanese proved to be a key player in many games this season, his team needs his help now more than ever. If he manages to pull out some of his individual wonders, the win will certainly be within reach.
Injuries and suspensions
The season has already ended for Kimbaloula and Quintieri, while Reginald and Neemelo should be cautious if they don’t wanna miss the final matchday.
Focus on Sillamäe Kalev (4/10, 73pts.)
All the wins and all the goals scored will come to nothing for Frantsev’s men if they lose this match. The stakes are high and already few times this season the players from Sillamäe proved that they can play against the top 3 teams. A win will mean also breaking into them with another tough match against Flora in the final day to come. However, as the coach has said many times before, they are taking one match at a time. For the clash against Kalju we can expect to see Lavrentjev on goal, Cheminava and Baguzis in central defense, Dudarev and Sidorenkov as usual on their full-back positions. Tjapkin and Vnukov should again command in the center of the park, Dubõkin and Mashichev on the flanks, and Ratnikov behind the goal machine, Jevgeni Kabaev.
Key-man: Daniil Ratnikov
The attacking midfielder of Sillamäe certainly knows how to create chances as he already has 15 assists this season. His creativity in the final third will be more than needed if they are hoping for a good result in the capital.
Injuries and suspensions
Besides Zahovaiko and Paponov, coach Frantsev can count on all the players from his squad. Kvasov, Murikhin, Mashichev, Baguzis, Dubõkin and Vnukov, however, should be careful not to get a yellow card.
As it was proven many times before in this season, the derbies are usually won in the midfield. However, as both teams have excellent creativity force in attack, an individual effort might also decide. Another key moment to be paid attention to are both defenses. Against them they will have 2 of the most dangerous attackers in the league and should they perform well, half the job will be done.
