After losing to Sillamäe at home, Levadia lost the leading position on the Premium Liiga table as well. Can they bounce back from that defeat and continue the title run? Against them they have the team of Paide who are definitely a team that plays much better at home. However, the win at Sportland Arena against the same opponent in matchday 1 is definitely still in their memory and they will do everything to repeat that result.
Focus on FC Levadia (2/10, 57 pts)
The loss to Sillamäe probably isn’t even close to the news that shocked all the football followers around Estonia on Thursday. On their official website it was announced that under mutual consent FC Levadia and Vladislav Ivanov terminated their cooperation. It wouldn’t have been such a shocking news if it wasn’t for the fact that Ivanov is the teams top scorer with 19 goals in 21 games. How will Marko Kristal fill that gap? RdS’s guess is that for the time being they will switch to the common 4-2-3-1 in which Smishko will stay on the goal, Artjunin and Tipuric in central defense, Pikk and Podholjuzin will most probably keep their full-back positions. Dmitrijev and Antonov are most likely to continue in central defense, and the main changes should happen in the final third where Elhussieny will be probably moved to a trequartista position and his place on the left flank will be filled by Penic. Subbotin will probably stay on the right flank and Teever will play as a lonely central forward.
Key-man: Omar El-Hussieny
If RdS’s predictions come true, it will be a huge responsibility for Omar to orchestrate the area between the midfielders and the attack and lively as he is, he will most definitely do a good job.
Injuries and suspensions
Jahhimovits and Rättel are the long-term unavailable for selection, while the injury of Vukobratovic was more serious than initially thought. The rest of the players are available for selection.
Focus on Paide Linnameeskond (6/10, 28 pts)
As we said in the previous week previews, Paide are secure on the 6th position without any chances to lose it nor to attack the fifth position currently occupied by Infonet. Without such pressure, Meelis Rooba’s players go out and give it all during the games hoping to attract the attention of other managers and scouts. Against Levadia we can expect to see a team very similar to the one that faced Flora last week, which means Palm on the goal, Leetma and Kaldoja in central defense, Ustaal and Lomp on the full-back positions. Reinsoo and Sinilaid will probably be again deployed in central midfield, Goldberg and Paur on the flanks and Tomson behind Rõivasepp in attack.
Key-man: Sander Rõivasepp
The big central forward has been shy this season when it comes to scoring and for this game it is expected for him to have many battles with Artjunin and Tipuric. If he manages to win those battles he can expect to see his name on the scoring sheet.
Injuries and suspensions
Mägi is not available for selection due to work duties while Indermitte sustained an injury which will most likely keep him sidelined for this game.
Levadia players will most certainly try to heal the wounds from last week’s defeat and try to score as many goals as possible. However, Paide’s team is known for the patient and disciplined game and their ability to attack on the counter. That being said, we can expect to see defensive display from the guests and attack from all sides from the home team.
