Good result for SSC Napoli Primavera taking on AS Roma at Trigoria, the sports centre of the Capitoline club where also the first team gathers for training.
Rudi Garcia’s squad appeared in the interval of the Campionato Nazionale Primavera clash watching the game from the terrace of their camp (see video).
Alberto De Rossi, father of Italian international Daniele, coaches Roma Primavera where other ‘sons of’ are members of the squad. Starting from Gabriele Marchegiani, son of Luca, former international and SS Lazio goalkeeper, to finish with Lorenzo Di Livio, son of Angelo Di Livio, former Juventus midfielder. Additionally, compared to SSC Napoli Primavera, AS Roma was fielding a couple of overage players from the first team (Turkish Ucan and Paraguay striker Sanabria) together with Arturo Calabresi, constantly part of Garcia squad but still a member of the Primavera.
Looking at the above, the goalless draw collected at Trigoria is a great result. Napoli starred a defensive 4-5-1 when not in possession with Frank Liivak flat on the left flank. Napoli was ready to strike with counters and had great chances in second half to bring home the three points. Liivak followed Saurini’s orders and produced a disciplined defensive game helping Anastasio and Palmiero with double-teaming on the midfield line.
In the half-time, the youth sector director, former Napoli player Gianluca Grava, hinted at some players of the Primavera team who might be useful for Benitez’ squad. No name was made, however the match commentators speculated about the possibility that Bifulco might earn a debut with the first team in future. It is to be said that there’ve been many players names associated with SSC Napoli for the upcoming transfer window (January) in order to replace long-term injured, Lorenzo Insigne. Dries Martens has returned with the squad after the incident occurred with the national team and should be back in the XI already tomorrow in the game against Sampdoria.
