In a long and intense interview appeared on FC Flora match program for the derby against Levadia (2-1 loss, match report here), club’s chairman, Aivar Pohlak, revealed that Flora was close to bring Eero Markkanen to Estonia.

From one side it’s a shame we didn’t manage to bring Eero (to FC Flora –edit)’ told Pohlak upon being asked whether it is likely to see more foreign players in Flora in future, ‘but on the other side it is important that the young lad got his fairy-tale chance,’ concluded the Flora and Estonian FA chairman about the Finnish player who left Swedish club AIK to play in Castilla, the second team of Real Madrid coached by no less than Zinedine Zidane.

Markkanen was seen in Tallinn last November when Flora played a friendly game with AIK (3-4 for the Swedish guests).
