Last season he stockpiled titles and acknowledgements in Estonia for 2013 season. He only missed the Premium Liiga’s topscorer title as Vladimir ‘Vosko’ Voskoboinikov scored one more than him (23 vs. 22)
Also Rumori readers voted him as the 2014 Best Player in our special end-of-season poll.
‘The Chemist’, a nickname he earned in our columns for his degree in chemistry and the good chemistry he has shown in the penalty box, made a move abroad soon after the end of Premium Liiga in 2013. He joined forces with Kazakhstan Premier League side, Kaysar Kyzylorda. For a little while, he was in company with Sergei Mõsnikov, now back to Estonia at FC Flora.
In a recent interview to Estonian local press, he said he can still improve as a striker as the goals scored (8 in the Premier) could have been more.
However, they were enough for the 22% of the people who responded to a poll launched by Nur.kz in their sport section.
In fact, Rimo was voted as Best Foreign Striker of the season ahead of Astana’s striker, Foxy Kethevoama (CTA) who was chosen by the 21% of the respondents.
A 1% difference notwithstanding the Central African international has collected slightly more goals (10) than his Estonian colleague.
Rimo and Kaysar are now busy with the end of season title sprint as the Kyzylorda club was grouped together with other 5 (Kairat Almaty, Lokomotiv Astana, FC Aktobe, Shakhtar Karagandy and Ordabasy Shimkent) in a title fight pool.
Kaysar will take on Lokomotiv Astana on Sunday the 28th of September at 16:00 EEST.
More info about Rimo’s fixtures and his club's table situation are available in our Estonians Abroad section here.
