Sillamäe Kalev vs FC Flora match preview

Deni DelevComment

It all came down to one match that would define the season not only to these two teams, but to the whole top part of the table. Everything is still possible and all the results bring different outcomes at the end of the season. Who will leave the pitch with heads up?

Focus on Sillamäe Kalev (3/10, 76pts.)

Coach Frantcev deservedly got the award for best coach for October, but that award will account for nothing if they don’t finish the season in style and beat Flora for the second position. The team is playing in astonishing form, against all the odds showed great composure and taught Kalju a lesson in the previous round and now against Flora in front of their home crowd they have chance to make history. There are little doubts that the coach will change anything from the team that won last week in Tallinn (see formation and squad below) and if they manage to impose their game from the very beginning, a surprise might be on sight.

Key-man: Nikolai Mashichev

The left midfielder produced great performance last week and his teammates and the coaching staff don’t expect anything less than him for this game as well. One thing is certain, he and Kabaev will definitely cause a lot of trouble.

Injuries and suspensions

There are no injured players but Dubõkin is not available for selection after receiving his 4th yellow card.

Focus on FC Flora (2/10, 79pts.)

Even though they have 3 points advantage over their direct rival, defeat in this match will take them to the 3rd position because Sillamäe will have more wins throughout the season. Will Hurt and his players go for a point in this match? Definitely not. A win still keeps them in contention for the title and even though it is highly unlikely for Levadia to lose in Narva, Flora’s players will certainly do their best to keep Kristal and his players stressed till the very end. Hurt managed to rest some of his key-players in the previous match against Kalev and goes into this clash with his best squad available.

Key-man: Irakli Logua

The Russian in Flora’s team has been unjustly criticized this season for his performances even though he bagged 10 goals and added 9 assists to his tally so far. They say that the biggest players show their worth in the most difficult of times, so we can expect him to shine once again in the final matchday.

Injuries and suspensions

There are no injured nor suspended players.

Tactical keys

There aren’t many unknown tricks any of the coaches can pull out. Flora mainly relies on the creativity of their midfield and the explosiveness of their wingers. Sillamäe plays quite similar and their center forward has scored way more goals than his Flora counterpart. In general, we can expect cautious, yet attacking football as both teams will try and grab the three points.
