FOCUS ON SILLAMÄE (4/10, 31p)
Sillamäe are reasonably ecstatic for having clinched their first European win ever at their third attempt. Ratnikov&Co. managed to win against all odds and will travel to Finland on a (tiny) advantage. Meanwhile, there is some routine to handle: the game against minnow Kalev. Contrary to what they might say in pre-match interviews, this will be a training game for the Dobiza band with the bags ready to sail across the gulf. We are still talking about the best striking line (47 goals) facing the worst defence (63).
Apart from the long-term injury suffered by Zahovaiko, they are all fit. Concerns for Volodin, Novikov, Kvasov and Tjapkin, all one card away from suspension. They might miss Flora in Tallinn next week.
Key man: Daniil Ratnikov
The trequartista born in Pärnu is finally showing his leadership within the XI. His opening goal against Honka in Europa League could be the first of other steps, like a national team call-up.
FOCUS ON KALEV
What was already a weak side, it lost four players who preferred to go play beach soccer or in lower league rather than continuing the poor figure at Kalev. The trip to Sillamäe might spare Kalev another bag of goals considering that recently they conceded 9 to Levadia and 6 to Paide.
The squad is healthy and the onluy concern is Omanidze, their best man, one card away from suspension.
Key man: Lasha Omanidze
Undoubtedly the most-talented player in the squad. He was also voted as 'player of the month' by the Premium Liiga board, a great achievement considering he plays in a drop-zone side. If Kalev can say anything in this game, then it will have Omanidze's voice.
Stopping the 4-man line behind Kvasov will be the real tactical rebus for Kristian Mejel as Mashichev, Ratniko, Murikhin and the new signing, Silich, will be storming in turns in the space they will find (many) and in those created by Kvasov's movements. Cheminava and Dudarev will have to take care of Omanidze. The 4-1-4-1 will help the defensive line thanks to Tjapkin double-teaming.
