Tartu JK Tammeka vs Sillamäe Kalev match preview

Deni DelevComment

As the season comes to an end there are still few questions to be answered. Can Tammeka make it to the 7th, or even more optimistic to the 6th place on the table? Can Sillamäe break the top 3 and bring European football to the eastern part of the country? Many things will be more clear after the clash between these two teams in Tartu in the opening game of matchday 33.

Focus on Tartu JK Tammeka (8/10, 25 pts)

The win against Kalev came in a very good moment for Indrek Koser’s boys as it was a huge boost in the run for that 7th position they all badly desire. Against them, however, they have way more serious rival and the bookers are not really giving them many chances for the win. Coach Koser doesn’t have many troubles and it is expected after the good performance two weeks ago to give chance to the same starting XI (with few exceptions, of course) that faced Kalev. On the goal Kütt seems to have cemented his position, Lorenz and Kiidron should be deployed in central defense, while Ojamaa and Tenno should take on the full-back positions. Tutk will probably again be utilized in central midfield, this time in pair with Paju and the forward line should consist of Suurpere and Tauts on the flanks and Tiirik behind Hurt in attack.

Key-man: Geir-Kristian Suurpere

The 19-year old had an impressive match against JK Kalev and his ambitions are definitely higher now. He will have to face much tougher opposition and he will definitely have to step his game up in order to help his team.

Injuries and suspensions

Tekko is unavailable due to suspension, while Jõgi, Ivanov and Tikerberi are sidelined because of injuries. The rest of the squad is available for selection.

Focus on Sillamäe Kalev (4/10, 67 pts)

With only 1 loss in the last 10 games they are certainly in a good run. However, in the last two rounds they are facing Nõmme Kalju and FC Flora and those games will definitely show if they have the strength to break into the positions that bring Europa League. If you look at the table, Tammeka shouldn’t pose a serious threat to Frantsev’s squad, however, they pledge to take this and the match against Paide very seriously. The coach doesn’t have many troubles with the squad and we can expect to see Lavrentjev on the goal, Cheminava and Dudarev in central defense, Volodin and Sidorenkov on the full-back positions. Tjapkin and Ratnikov will most probably feature on the center of the park, Murikhin, Kvasov and Mashichev will accompany Kabaev in attack.

Key-man: Nikolai Mashichev

The 25-year old winger has been playing the whole season in the shadow of the outstanding Kabaev and coach Frantsev will most definitely expect him to shine in the final few rounds and it is not something Nikolai is not familiar with.

Injuries and suspensions

Kyrylo Silich is suspended because of the red card he got in the previous match against Lokomotiv. Paponov and Zahovaiko are not available for selection for a longer time, while the rest of the squad is ready to play.

Tactical keys

Both coaches practise offensive football and they always try to score a goal more than their opponents. They both utilize 4-2-3-1 formation and always getting the best of their wingers. Sillamäe has the better scoring record and they will probably have the main word in this clash.
