Several sources in Indonesia have confirmed that Martin Vunk is not a Persija Jakarta player any longer.
According to the sources, the contract was terminated with immediate effect.
Vunk did not take part to the first ISL game against Arema (a 4-4 draw away) and the third foreigner on the pitch was Rohit Chandl from Nepal.
Confirmation of Vunk’s departure came from Persija official website speaking of Chandl as a replacement for Vunk.
Further explanations of Vunk’s dismissal came from the Persija’s coach, Rahmat Darmawan. ‘Considering Martin’s physical condition, he may not be able to play until May,’ hence the decision to 'get rid' of the Estonian international.
Vunk’s adventure in Indonesia ends even before starting due to injuries.
