Irish media are reporting a link between Irish club Dundalk FC and the Estonian striker Jarmo Ahjupera, last season at Nõmme Kalju FC:
Ahjupera has collected 22 caps with the Estonian national team and scored just one goal.
Born in 1988 in the Southern town of Võhma, the 196cm is a target striker who has plied trade in Hungary for 5 years.
Györi ETO FC and Ujpest FC were his clubs.
Afflicted by injuries, he returned to Estonia in July 2014 to join Nõmme Kalju. He collected only 4 appearances in Premium Liiga (5 if we consider a cup tie) and scored three goals. It was an hattrick in a 5-0 win against derelict Kalev Tallinn, later on relegated. Ahjupera was close to score the quickest hattrick in the history of the Estonian top-flight as the goals were on 26', 28' and 32' (6 minutes) being the record dating back to 1993 (3 minutes).
According to Transfermarkt, he has played 128 games in Estonian top-flight and scored 63 goals. In Hungary, 48 appearances and 20 goals. The little number of appearances compared to the years spent in the Central European country are mainly due to injuries.
If Ahjupera will sign with Dundalk, it will be the second Estonian reaching League of Ireland after Sander Puri who moved to Sligo Rovers.
