27.02.2015 - Flora are ready to take Swedish side, IK Frej Täby (Superettan) for their last friendly of preseason.
Next week it's already time for taking on newly promoted Viljandi Tulevik in Sportland Arena for Premium Liiga matchday 1.
Also IK Frej are newly promoted since they arrived second in the Division 1 Norra (Northern group -edit) and earned a pass to the Swedish second flight through a successful play-off.
'It was an enthusing season,' told coach Bartosz Grzelak to Rumori at the end of the training held by Frej in A.LeCoq complex indoor hall tonight. 'We had some 1,500 people following the games as Frej was close to this historical result,' recounted the 36-year-old coach who was also a player at the club before hanging the boots in 2011. Frej normal average attendance has been around 500 people in the past has they played the lower divisions for all their life.
The club founded in 1968 will play their Superettan season for the first time and they have brought 7 additions to better face the tier.
'Among them, we have one player on loan from AIK Solna and one from DIF (Djurgarden - edit),' told Bartosz speaking about Jonas Olsson (goalkeeper) and Jakob Glasberg (pictured together with Grzelak above).
Bartosz has Polish origins, however his parents moved to Sweden when he was 4. 'I had to give up to my Polish citizenship when I got the Swedish one, that time it was not allowed by Polish law to have two,' recounted Bartosz about his personal story. His football career brought him to play also in Norway. He revealed to Rumori that he has played together with Estonian national team coach, Magnus Pehrsson. 'I talk to him sometimes, not often though. We were together at Brommapojkarna but then our careers took a different path. He told me he is very happy with his choice to coach the Estonian national team,' recounted Bartosz who admitted he watched several games of the Estonian national team and knows the names of some of the players. Bartosz and Magnus went to University together studying sports management.
Tomorrow it's time also for him to test his side against the Estonian most-titled club.
15.02.2015 - A Flora 4-3 win away to Skonto Riga (video below) boosts the team morale especially for the way it came. Three nil down in first half, the white-greens managed to score four goals and win the game. New signing Tukiainen played 62 minutes but did not hit the net. Enar Jääger was not part of the away trip.
20.01.2015 - Another international friendly game for Flora as they added Skonto Riga (away in Latvia) to the calendar (14th of February 2015 at 13:00 local time). Full calendar of Premium Liiga friendlies is available here.
10.01.2015 - 'Military troubles' for Flora since Mart Kase and Brent Lepistu are serving in the army. Coach Norbert Hurt is optmist in the situation to solve and the two players coming back from duty earlier this year.
31.12.2014 - Following Flora's success at the end of year tournament (it's the second year in a row they bring the title home), coach Norbert Hurt spoke to Soccernet.ee regarding the squad situation. 'The squad is completed,' declared the young coach from Tartu 'if there will be any offer coming, I cannot predict. For sure we don't look for any player and we're planning to go face the 2015 season with these players.' The last addition was Sakari Tukiainen who scored three goals in the indoor tournament.
27.12.2014 - It's official, FC Flora have signed 2014 Kakkonen topscorer Sakari Tukiainen. Full story and details about the deal here with words by the Finnish club's sport director.
23.12.2014 - Sergei Mośnikov might return to Kazakhstan after his stint at Kaysar Kyzylorda. In fact, he will be testing with FC Tobol, top-flight club (Kazakhstan Champions in 2010. The news was given by the club's website directly.
22.12.2014 - As anticipated few days ago by Rumori (full story here) Taavi Rähn is about to move to Indonesia. The arrival of Taavi Rähn was confirmed by Persija Jakarta's coach, Rahmad Darmawan, to the Indonesian media as the 33-years-old international shall arrive in Jakarta on Christmas day. Apparently he will be there for a trial and after that a decision will be taken whether to sign him or not.
19.12.2014 - Flora has signed the U-21 international, Madis Vihmann. The central defender was at Levadia double team. 194cm and 86kg, the 19-year-old born in Tallinn takes on nr.21
15.12.2014 - Our tactician, UEFA B-licensed coach, Giovanni Costantino - youth coach at FC Futura Jokerit, gave us a short description of Sakari Tukiainen, on trial with Flora starting from today. Giovanni had the chance to see the Kakkonen 2014 topscorer in action against FC Futura Porvoo, the team where Estonian Fredrik Aardemäe plays. 'He is tall. He plays a lot on his position and doesn't work much for the team. He doesn't have a great coordination but he's always the right guy in the right place. He's very physical and I think he can score enough goals for the Estonian level.'
14.12.2014 - With Sander Post who was let go (he is training with Levadi at the moment) and Albert Prosa injured until May-June, Flora are actively searching for a striker. They are not excluding the possibility to bring a striker from abroad since they will test a Finnish striker in their first trainings of the week (Flora are starting on the 15th of December): Sakari Tukiainen. The former Atlantis FC (Kakkonen, Finnish third tier) has set the all-time record for the tier: 40 goals in 27 games. Compared to Eero Markkanen by Ilta-Sanomat the 23-year-old also tested at AIK Stockholm during the past season managing to score a brace in the 3-2 win in a friendly game against Syrianska. The AIK's coach Andreas Alm described Sakri: 'contrary to Markkanen he is right-footed. He is a player who goes gladly upfield, big and physical. He's definitely a goalscorer.'
The all-time seasonal goalscorer in Premium Liiga has been Alexandrs Cekulajevs with 46 in 2011 at Narva Trans.

6.12.2014 - We reached Thor Todesen, former Estonian national team assistant coach under Teitur Thordarsson and nowadays football pundit for football broadcaster Max in Norway. Thor introduced the Norwegian national team for Rumori readers (check here) ahead of the friendly game held in Oslo. Thor could follow Mets' game as he was in the panel of the game broadcast. 'I heard that they were presenting a signing today but didn't know it was him!' told surprised to Rumori when we reached him with the news. 'He is joining the biggest underachievers in Norway, from the richest and fastest growing (oil) region,' quickly profiled the situation Thor who was 'Coach of The Year 2006' at Sandefjord adding the problem does not lie with the money, but the results. Thor, are you meaning Karol joined a 'poor' club under this point of view? 'It's not me saying that, it's the numbers from past season. They where top 3 at one point in the spring and started talking about the title...' and instead they ended up 10th with 36 points, 35 adrift from Molde, the 2014 Champions. 'I think it was a good bargain for Flora, especially in today's market situation,' concluded the former Tippeligaen skipper. Gary Goodchild, the English scout working for Viking (and a former player of the club in the 80's) who followed Karol, stated to Aftenposten that Viking have the target of both implanting Mets into their XI and eventually sell him abroad later on.
6.12.2014 - in a day full of joy for having sold Karol Mets to Viking Stavanger, Flora had to cash also the bad news of their goalkeeper, Stanislav Prins, being involved in the matchfixing scandal and suspended until the end of 2018.
Sander Post and Errki Junolainen are free agents since the club did not renew the contracts.
Situation: (4.12.2014) after 'stealing'* one interesting youngster from the city rivals (Mihkel Ainsalu) and purchasing the other (goalkeeper Richard Aland - check story here) the squad seems to be completed and even quite crowded, especially in the midfield. Unless, Sergei Mośnikov will leave the club in the next months considering his aspiration is still to get a contract abroad after his short spell in Kazakhstan (Kaysar Kyzylorda, together with Rimo Hunt). Gert Kams joined the club back in Autumn after SJK (FIN) did not renew his contract at the end of the Finnish season.
*word used by Kalju's president, Kuno Tehva - later on FC Flora president Aivar Pohlak apologized for the move, and Kalju's chairman accepted them.
Target: (4.12.2014) selling Karol Mets. This is Flora's core business for the winter window as the club will try to make (good) cash by sending his most valuable piece abroad. An attempt in Switzerland with FC Basel was unsuccessful (story here) and now Aivar Pohlak (Flora's president and FA Chairman) might try the Scandinavian track since Norwegian scouts were at the Norway-Estonia friendly. However, it will be quite unlikely he might make the money he hopes for (around 600k€ some of our sources say).
Will this transfer window go empty for Mets once and again? The boy has openly said that he wants to test himself abroad. Additionally, the Estonian national team coach, Magnus Pehrsson, has always insisted on how important is for national team players to have a club. If anything, he will stay where he is and the next talks will be in summertime.
Flora need to bring in a striker since Albert Prosa is sidelined by an injury collected with the U-23. He is out until May-June 2015.
