It has lasted less than one year Sander Puri’s adventure in the UK as, with an official press release, the Yorkshire capital club has communicated the following list of released players that will not be part of YCFC in 2014-15 season: ‘York City confirms Calvin Andrew, Sander Puri, Adam Reed, and Chris Dickinson have all been released from the Club’
There was a lot of enthusiasm around Sander when he joined the League Two club in the Summer of 2013.
RdS had a chat with him following the enthusiasm received via the social networks.
Unfortunately, a series of injuries have limited his appearance on the pitch as he was mostly sidelined and not picked up by Northern Irish coach, Nigel Worthington.
In an interview to YCFC match programme, he made clear he had acclimatized well in the Yorkshire: 'I have walked around the city and it’s lovely'.
He was also hoping to face England in September as a York City FC player when certainly a bit of banter within the YCFC dressing room would have had lightened up the challenge.
He will now return to Estonia following the call-up by Magnus Pehrsson for the game against Gibraltar (26th of May). However, he will be set to look for another club.
Could he join his former club Levadia, eager to reinforce the squad?
